Spring working bee

September 7, 2011

Spring has sprung and this Saturday 10th September is the spring working bee between 2pm and 4pm with barbecue and drinks to follow.

Here are a few jobs we will be looking at:

  • Weeding all inside communal beds
  • Trim back large bush next to toilet/new espaliered quince
  • Weeding outside beds
  • Path weeding
  • Dig out elderflower shots/suckers
  • Sweep and tidy shed
  • Oil pergola posts, oil/varnish plywood insides
  • Fill in and smooth off outside holes
  • Turn/distribute compost
  • Fertilize communal fruit trees.
  • last but important point; many plots have a significant infestation with stinging nettles which will soon go to seed and spread further.  All plot-holders are requested to eat (plenty of recipes on the net) or otherwise remove them as soon as possible
So rain, hail or shine, see you there.
